This organization named "Susta Manasthiti Bal Bidya Mandir" (SMBBM), a center for Intellectual Disability, is the organization for only with Intellectual Disabilities. It was established in 1994 by the parents of intellectual disabled persons. "Susta Manasthiti" is a Nepali word and it is known as Mental Retardation of Intellectual Disability or Development Disabled.

The organization has its own 2 stories building. There are some good playing equipments in the big playing ground. The building is in the peace and safe place inside the city. Almost all the infrastructures are managed.

It is probably the single organization for intellectual disabled persons which established and running only by the parents in Nepal.
This organization was formed in this region by the guardians while there were no other centers for the intellectual disabled persons. This is fully welfare and non profitable organization. There is no financial support of Nepal government. Mainly, the capable parents, local social workers, good wishers, politicians have been helping us to run on. Occasionally, some donors help for specific purposes.
There is no fee for all provided services, though the donation is accepted. There are more than 150 parents in the group to make run it. All of them are volunteers. Secondly, most of the instructors in the center are guardians as well.

The organization is legally registered to the Nepal government and attached to the Social welfare council as well as to the Nepal federation of disabled-Nepal.

The organization works with the Intellectual Disabled Persons, their families, neighborhood and the local society. It also works for their rehabilitation, rights and for the life of dignity.
